We want every woman at Hope to trust in Jesus Christ and to rest in his work on the cross. We help our women apply the gospel to every area of life so they grow in the knowledge of Christ and in their love for one another. We want to show the community around us that we are a group of sinners, saved by grace, who love Jesus and each other, and that this grace is available to all who repent and believe. We aim to do this by teaching the Bible and theology, through meaningful relationships, and by loving one another in practical ways.
Our formal programming includes Bible studies, monthly events, baby showers, and an annual retreat. The Bible study meets twice a month and is a place for women to dig into a book of the Bible and have in-depth conversations about that passage of Scripture. The monthly events are great times to meet and get to know other women at Hope, and they have ranged from a Galentine’s brunch to a panel discussion on encouragement to a book swap where we shared what we’ve loved reading lately. The baby showers are sweet times of celebrating our parents every time they welcome someone new into the family. The annual retreat is the biggest event of the year and is a day where we dive into what the Scripture says about a particular topic while spending extra time connecting with one other.
Our 2025 fall retreat focused on intergenerational friendship, and the theme for our women’s ministry in 2026, “Growing Together,” aims to build on that foundation. We want Hope to be a place where retirees and high schoolers, grandmothers and first-time moms are involved deeply in one another’s lives, encouraging each other to grow in their faith, and pointing one another to Jesus. We want to be real and honest about the difficulty of life and bold about the hope we have in Christ for those difficulties.
Megan Cho is the women’s ministry director. Rebekah Bailey, Emily Etherton, Susie Johnson, Jane Keddie, Karen Occhiogrosso, and Katrina Pyatt are the women’s ministry leadership team. Krista O’Neill plans and organizes the baby showers. The team sets the theme each year, teaches Bible study, plans events, and gets women plugged in to relationships and events at Hope.
